It is hard to imagine but so was the fact that the world is round, a picture could be sent over airwaves (tv) etc.
I always wondered about oil as a source product of organic decomposition. In my mind I couldn't reconcile the huge volumes involved and the necessary vegetation to create those volumes.
So....laugh at the theory as I might, it is a tempered laugh.
