That's why many don't classify Buddhism as a religion.

Is Confucianism a religion?

I am aware that there is a fuzzy border here between religions and other life ways etc.

I dont' know what you mean by "systems" but all political systems are flawed as well... and "can't be true" makes no sense... what do you mean 'religious systems can't be true"?? Religions ARE. Aren't there truths and falsehoods told every second of every day by everyone... Is "no religion" true??? If there IS a god, then THAT is false, no?

Followers of the main religions argue that their belief system is correct. All I am saying is that they can't all be correct. I argue with people who tell me human rights are natural or intrinsic or obvious or whatever too. Or that science has all the answers.

Buddhism differs in not being dogmatic about gods and adapting to the Gods existing in the countries that Buddhism arrived in, stil they have firm beliefs about reincarnation and other spiritual things.

And that's YOUR belief... which begs the question what is god? If god is in everything, religion says serve all people, beings, and the planet. If you think god is some old man with a beard you think people serve him. You of course have your own picture of what god is and so think religious people are "serving" that "god" in your head and have an opinion about. THAT is a giant leap of FAITH... sounds religious to me.

Your idea of what religion is seems strongly influenced by Christianity to me with a dash of Buddhism.

Not all religions require followers to believe. Some care more about them being obedient. And it isn't immediately obvious what God wants even if he is everywhere and nowhere. So they instruct the followers in what God's laws are.
