Bill doesn't appreciate that liberal and conservative mean different things in Canada.

Liberal - ruling party of Canada for most of the past 100 years. Was once slightly left of the US Democratic party, now somewhat right. Liberal Governments used to mean big Govt, but also had fascist tendencies (declared Martial Law etc).

Conservative - once was a ruling Party in Canada, now just a ghost. Actually called the PC (Progressive Conservatives) - need I say more :-)
