and I am trying to get him interested in interning for one of the local companies that develop these games.

Very boring job, as I understand it from a friend of mine who used to do beta testing for Activision..

Apparently, whenever a bug occurs, you have to write down the coordinate for a bugfix latter on... So you really don't get much of an opportunity for all out playing..
