I've said for a LONG time....the Governments should ask the recruiters what the status of the economy is....we know at least 6-9 months ahead of time what's coming (or not coming) down the pike. We knew this was going to be tough by April 2000....and by September 2000 were openly talking about it in our Associations. WAY before the US election of 2000.

So what are you saying now?

It means to me that the economic and employment malaise will continue for some time ~~ the next couple of years at least.

It makes sense that after 8-9 years of blow out growth that a pause would be prolonged and particularily given the monstrous personal credit levels experienced in the USA. If we are ever going to see a non USA led recovery this may be the time. Personally i doubt it but if ever.....

I am interested in alternative fuel sources such as fuel cells, though I don't necessarily expect much action in the next 1-2 years. The biggest difficulty as I see it is lack of support infrastructure, not a conspiracy of "big oil". :-/ Look at the problem with electric cars - where the heck do you plug them in once the charge runs out?? I'm seeing more hybrid cars on the road, though, and when they come out with a hybrid wagon or SUV (we run to large in our family) I will be a serious shopper.

Edit: I'd also be interested in a fuel cell furnace/central air/electric generator system, once I can get one at Home Depot, if it's cheaper and cleaner than what I've got.
