You know what? I didn't vote today.

Now I do have to scold you for that. If the informed and intelligent voters won't vote, who will make the choices?

Well, by my principles you have forsworn any right to complain about the direction the country takes in the next two years. If you won't be part of the democratic process, I think you forfeit the right to criticize it.

Tough, ain't I? <g>

I voted straight democratic. I never do that. But I did this year to send a message that I do NOT like where we are going and I do NOT want a war with Iraq. Everyone I know in my little part of California is doing the same. Of course they are all liberal educators, but usually someone wants to vote green or something. Not this year, though.

"I don't really care much about the resolution of this big, fat issue, either. Since I gave up on ever having a discussion thread, I no longer have a personal stake in it."

Pick up that lower lip! <g> I think you've lived longer enough to know that your visions of finality are shortsighted...and overly conditional on self importance. Certainly you will never have a PERFECT discussion thread. But you may find or create discussion threads which meet your needs...

"putting it in perspective and restating the goals"--101!...<g>

I can't imagine not caring about the election. How revolting is that? Apathy is a cancer. Be hot or cold, but not lukewarm. To be able to vote freely is not only an honor and a privilege, but a duty. To not vote is a slap in the face, to those who cannot do so. Let them eat cake.

I poll watched yesterday and people who feel, or rather do not feel, like you disgust me.

When I heard you were dead, it seems the rumor was true. have the good grace to lie down, then, will you?
