Re US going to the trouble of getting UN approval

Excuse me. Was the US ever elected ruler of the world or even its police? Nope. What makes you think that it has any other option BUT to get UN approval when it wishes to attack another country on half-baked assertions of liason with a terrorist organisation and a possible WMD arsenal?

"going to the trouble", indeed.... US initially showed no intention to "go to the trouble" of getting UN approval, and is only "going to the trouble" now because NOBODY is going along without UN approval. Whose bases will W. use, I wonder, if he charges in without UN approval?

That should be encouraging to them

Sorry but non-Americans are not as stupid as you might think they are. What I said above is pretty obvious to all.

Other countries shouldn't be under the delusion that the US is under their control

Oh so THAT's what "consulting with your allies" means.

The US has not been a bully to the Arab world

I am afraid the Iraqi population who lived under sanctions for a decade and watched their people die because they could not even get basic chemicals to sanitize their drinking water, let alone antibiotics, might disagree with that statement. So would Palestinians who see the US agreeing with everything on Israel. So would the rest of the Muslim nations who follow all this on their media, who incidentally make it a point to fuel the controversy.
