When I noted in the first bullet of my post that "The Korean contingency" was missing from today's developer PR, perhaps I should have been more specific:

Korean players that have been participants in 3GPP standards development - and enjoy a likely claim to essential IP - include Samsung, LG Electronics and SK Telecom. KT has not been as active as SK.

It's interesting that Philips and Alcatel are missing.

On another topic, I've seen speculation that KT may soon gobble up LG Telecom.
