RE: "Cary's probably in mourning today..."

There have been worse elections. 1933 comes to mind.

Mike,

I'm happy the majority of voting Americans have not forgotten 9/11 already. Over 3000 people did die......we are still at war.....and self-flagellation is not what Americans want from a political party. My personal feeling is that except for environmental issues, the Dems are a morally bankrupt party where just about anything goes. My fear about the Republicans is that they are just as morally bankrupt except for the home security issues, and might take this as an opportunity to back off on reforms dealing with corporate and government reform, health care, and other issues.

And of course, neither party wants to deal with the issue of illegals. Saw a State Rep from Colorado on TV last week.......When asked a direct question about why neither party wants to deal with illegals, he took a deep breath and said..........."The Dems want their votes....The Republicans want them as cheap labor for their corporate friends..................................and just where in hell does the electorate fit in either of these scenarios? A pox on all politicians!

However, am especially glad to see that Daschle is able to retain MOST of his title. He will switch from being the "Most obstructionist Senate Majority Leader ever" to being "Mostt obstructionist Senate MINORITY leader ever." What goes around comes around............ I expect him to fade into the obscurity that he so richly deserves.
