samim,

<< Also the fastest wireless data in the world. >>

Yes it zips right along at 14.4 kbps on my wife's Verizon 1xRTT KYO 2235 with the "Qualcomm 3G CDMA" label on it.

As the Big Guy said in his newsletter this morning:

"The other thing I dont get is that to use BREW (on Verizon) you have to buy a cdmaOne phone that uses 14.4-Kbps dial-up when you can purchase a 1X phone and plug it into a notebook computer to get 40-70-Kbps data service. BREW phones should have been 1X from the start. How will customers feel about using the older CDMA technology to get one of the newest features available?" - Andy Seybold, November 6, 2002 -

Here we are 25 months after the "Commercial Launch" of 1xRTT and the largest cdma carrier in the world, in the largest cdma market in the world, currently stocks 4 1xRTT handsets, 1 1xRTT PDA, and 1 1xRTT modem card, and none of those 4 handsets with the "Qualcomm 3G CDMA" label allow 1xRTT data services on the handset ...

... but I'm a patient guy.

Best,

- Eric -
