A comment from WSJ about the South Dakota Senate race. Backs up what I posted earlier.

>>>Another race whose result may be in some doubt is in South Dakota, where Sen. Tim Johnson, a Democrat, appears to have beaten Rep. John Thune, a Republican, by 528 votes. Johnson has declared victory, but the Sioux Falls Argus Leader reports "the closeness of the vote makes a recount likely, and state officials said that would be held on Nov. 25." In addition, charges of voter fraud on the state's heavily Democratic Indian reservations have bedeviled this race. If there's going to be litigation over the 2002 election, expect it in South Dakota.<<<<

While the Dems had voters' ennui, the Republicans came out in droves. They were spurred on, no doubt, by the arduously successful stumping President Bush did for candidates. While the Democrats were thinking big wins were a fait accompli, the Republicans artfully pulled that rug out from under them. They certainly did an amazing job this election. Of course, I continue to hope sane minds among the conservatives will prevail, lolol.
