That hardly describes the triumphalism that has been driving the Palestinians, particularly the Islamists. Their theme song is, "we will drive out the Jews as we drove out the Crusaders". Nor are they without allies - check out Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq for troop and money support, and every other Arab state for sympathy and money.

Nor does it describe their previous position -- they had a state-in-the-making to lose, and a serious settlement offer on the table to lose. And they've lost it.

My question for you is: how come the Europeans are so passionate about the Palestinians, when they don't give tuppence for the Kurds, the Tibetans, or the millions of dead in Rwanda and the Sudan?
