Hi Jay. And so they should! We [me, you and the rest of us] aren't paying taxes to the USA [$101 million to 30 September 2002]http://www.qualcomm.com/press/PDF/QCOM_Q402.pdf to have them lounging around the place running up expense tabs in Washington. We want them out there running the empire.

As the locals all showed, they aren't capable of running their own affairs so a bit of Colinisation will put them back on the straight and narrow.

Since independence from Britain, starting with the bulk killing during partition, Pakistan and India have gone nowhere, with miserable life expectancies and mass poverty.

Look at Hong Kong [up until Independence and China taking over again] - great prosperity.

Gibraltar wants to stay a colony. They don't want to end up like some low grade Spanish pirate cut-throats cove.

The USA should take over Zimbabwe which would give them a convenient base of operations in Southern Africa. Make it another state. I dare say the locals would vote for that if given a chance.

First though, they should take over NZ. That way they could get the America's Cup back. Actually, NZ's pretty much been taken over already. I doubt they'd want to take over completely as that would be like grabbing hold of a tar-baby. They've got my money, they own most of the business in NZ, we obey their laws, send SAS and other troops to help out in the WAT-WOT-Whatnot. We keep our noses clean and cheer Bill Clinton much louder than Americans do. Hooray for King George II too!

PS: I quite like to see a big tax bill for QUALCOMM. That's a good measure of profit. After any flim-flam and accounting shenanigans, if the government got money, it means we are doing okay. QUALCOMM, unlike many companies, had the CEO sign the guarantee immediately when required. They know their books are clean as a whistle.

I also like to see $451 million R&D. Heaps of money going into new, bright ideas. Even after that big expense, we still pay lots of taxes. $101 million will buy a lot of Predator fuel and a few Hellfire missiles. Then, all the employees and suppliers in the USA are paying about a third of their QUALCOMM derived income in tax, so that bumps tax paid as a result of my investment up to nearer $1 billion! That will buy a few overpriced toilet seats, hammers and other, "Omigod, look how much the Pentagon paid for ...." items.
