Duvall has a farm in The Plains, Virginia which is about an hour's drive from here. Beautiful rolling green hills. The area is called Virginia hunt country and Virginia horse country. A lot of really rich people live around there.

He seems to have lived in Fairfax when he was young, and his father was from here.

Yes, I liked Kevin Spacey in K-pax and The Shipping News, though I don't think either movie made it into the 'great' category.

My favorite movies include some from the formerly husband and wife team of Brannaugh and Thompson: Henry V, Hamlet, and Sense and Sensibility. If we're going to list The Matrix, how about some other great sci-fi and fantasy movies: Enemy Mine, Minority Report, and the brilliant Fellowship of the Ring?

Tender Mercies and LA Confidential are definitely good movies.

Since you brought up old Los Angeles, I nominate "China Town" for my list.
