Since both meanings are valid and common about the word 'Echad, it has more than one 'face value.' But alarmingly, he misquotes the verse in question. It is not "Yahweh is one." It is "Yahweh, our God, is one Lord." Meaning this: The term 'Elohim' is used for God. It is a plural noun in Hebrew! Why is that, Frederick, if He is a solitary Being as you imply?
