Hi Pearlie - thanks for the links, I had lost track of the particulars. I feel pretty confident, under the circumstances, and hope that all those who took the bet will be a gentleman and pay off.;^) And of course, if the shoe is on the other foot, I'll honor my bet. However, I think that for you to win, something terrible would have to happen, like a nuclear attack on the US. Which would not be within the spirit of the bet, IMO. When we made the bet, 9/11 was unimaginable. I guess the Great Crash and the Great Depression caused political unrest, as well. So regardless of the circumstances, I will honor my bet. Just be advised that if there is a terrorist attack on the US sufficiently bad as to cause 25% unemployment, I may be unable to pay up.;^/
