I am not being judgmental, I just know what I like, and Cronenberg is not it. I like weirdness, but not "high weirdness." For example, I like Twin Peaks, but not Eraserhead or Blue Velvet. Some people like a lot of stimulation, but I prefer things low key. My senses get overloaded and it makes me uncomfortable. I have been reading reviews of The Ring and have goosebumps on my arms and chest at the moment, despite the fact that it's broad daylight. Well, actually it's rainy, but the light is bright enough that all the colors of the trees are glowing. I wish I had watched the final scene, sort of, so am looking for a description of what happened.
