I'm not kidding myself. And you're right, the notion of us running in and installing a democracy in a place where democracy isn't cool is a bit much. And they aren't our friends, and won't be during our lifetimes.

Remember when we helped Afghanistan purge Russian troops. The US got no credit for that. They just gave Allah the credit.

Same thing will happen with Iraq.
