Don't kid yourself. Iraq is a very fertile country. On top of that, Saddam has been selling oil through all his Arab buddy nations.

How many people do you believe have died as a result of the sanctions that have been in place in Iraq for the last 10 years?

Zero. Any such deaths did not result from the sanctions; they resulted from the tyranny of Saddam Hussein.

The liberal nitwits who toss around figures like, "5,000 babies dying per month" are totally misguided and naive. As liberals do, such figures are undoubtedly gross exaggerations; but the main point is that the root cause of any problems BLAMED on sanctions lay, in fact, at the feet of Saddam.

Al, it isn't my intent to criticize you in any way. But when I read the stuff you write, the thing that comes foremost to my mind is that you are one of the most naive individuals I've ever encountered. You, no doubt, have the best of intentions, but you seem to have no grasp on the ways of the world. You have to understand that the best solution to this problem is extreme violence, where we go into Iraq and solve the problem, killing anyone who gets in the way. It may seem brutal, but it is not nearly as brutal as the alternative of leaving these people to suffer under the rule of Saddam for another year, decade, or whatever.

I'm wondering how old you are?

How many unborn children murdered over the last ten years due to liberals in this country?

How many people do you believe have died as a result of the sanctions that have been in place in Iraq for the last 10 years?

They have been killed by Saddam. The sanctions allow for import of food and medicine and certain other critical items, and they allow for export of oil to pay for these things. Also the sanctions where going to be loosened in some ways a few years back and Saddam managed to maneuver to stop that from happening so he can continue to use the suffering of his people to try and score propaganda points.

Also if the sanctions are causing so much death you should be happy that they will end after we kick Saddam out.
