MiG jet goes cheap on Ebay theinquirer.net

[ Cheap being a somewhat relative term here.]

NEED TO START YOUR own air force in preparation for the Third World War? What better then, to buy a MiG 21, a classic Mach 2 Russian jet fighter over at Ebay.

The plane comes with a spare engine, rocket pods, missile rails, spare parts, and is currently sitting in Santa Maria in California.

If you're from Libya, Vietnam, Burma, North Korea, Syria or Iraq, forget it, you won't get a licence.

You can test drive the MiG supersonically at a few military test areas before you fly it back to your country to start up your own airforce.

Missiles are not included, and delivery costs $10,000 in advance plus you need to hire a ground crew to follow the plane with nitrogen, oxygen and ladders.

The price currently stands at $180,000 and the Ebay page is right here.

Need a missile silo for your MiG's missiles. You can buy one of those here. µ

[According to the link, cgi.ebay.com , the final price was $231k. A Mig21 is a pretty old fighter, I don't think there are many F-4 Phantoms flying any more, and I somewhat doubt this one could really outrun an F-16, as the seller claims. Compare: fas.org fas.org ]
