I think the Dems need to stand for what they believe in and stop worrying about the consequences.

The Democrat party is DEAD because liberalism doesn't work.

If the elect Pelosi it will just be one more nail in the coffin...

Actually, this is exactly what they tried in 2002 without success. The Dems had no alternatives to Bush's agenda. All they did was run themselves as the "anti-Bush," and the net effect was a weak message. The more they try this, the more people will get turned off.

Dems need to start defining themselves a lot more. "Vote for us! We're not Republican" is a very ineffective message. Hence, my musings over whether the Dems will try and become more liberal, like the late Paul Wellstone.
