Bush also has supported an investigation.

Yes, had he not done that, or stonewalled questions, he should have been booted.

So not pushing the idea that an investigation should be launched is a crime? If you arguing for impeachment the standard is "high crimes and misdemeanors".

We had a clear-cut war to fight, without any hanky-panky on the part of those bringing the war to us

So the fight against Al-Qaida is not a war? 9/11 was not casus belli?

What evidence due you have of any "hanky-panky" by the Bush administration that led to or even allowed for 9/11? That is an extraordinary claim and as such should require an extraordinary level of evidence.

but mealy-mouthed excuses for failing in continuing variety of ways to capture "the real killers"

We have captured or killed a whole lot of Al-Qaida. Getting all of the senior leadership or the majority of the rank and file is not something that anyone could reasonably expect was in the cards. These people are not idiots and its a big world out there for them to hide in.
