Re Any review of our policies has to start with the fact that we are not going to change our policy towards Israel. How is that a review, then, when you refuse to consider the main argument against US foreign policy in the ME? What you are saying has more than a passing resemblance to the following position: "I understand I everyone says I should lose weight but review of my eating habits has to start with the fact that I will not reduce my chocolate and butter intake. Because I like them."

jcky, any review of our policies has to start with the fact that we are not going to change our policy towards Israel. That is just reality. It ain't gonna happen. Ever. Does not make any difference whither you want it or I oppose it. The more we are attacked by these terrorists, the stronger our relationship with Israel will be. You can see how much stronger that relationship is since 911. After reading your visceral response, LB, I am somewhat perplexed about how I should respond in turn. Do I make equally ridiculous static claims as you have just done or should I even attempt to discuss this subject with you in a cogent manner knowing very well in advance the futility of my endeavors. There has been enough bloodshed on this thread and the quality of the discussions has deteriorated significantly. I see no point in contributing to the garbage.
