We make a similar cranberry compote..
Use 2 cans of cranberries.
a can of pineapple chunks
a can of mandarin oranges. and a bag of crushed walnuts.
Open the cans and bag mix together and voila.

Crystalized ginger is slices of ginger root boiled in sugar syrup and dried. Candied ginger.

I know you can get it at Trader Joes, and oriental groceries.

I like to munch a piece when I feel nauseated, it's very good for nausea. Nice and tangy, and lasts a long time.

People who are undergoing chemotherapy find ginger helpful for nausea, I am told.

I like to mix chopped crystalized ginger with vanilla ice cream, but then I like ginger. Ginger beer, ginger ale, gingerbread.
