re "profiling"

This is a major issue in the USA. On one hand there is all sorts of laws about racial bias and stuff. These laws have had some good effects I admit.

However, just passing a law does not change peoples nature automatically. Racial prejudice etc goes under the table. It's still exerted, but so that it's not visible to the law.

Hence this need to talk about profiling and stuff.

You have people spending their lives on the technical aspects of what you can and cannot do. A most unhealthy activity I think. Finding all sorts issues to stir up the emotions with.

Bill, third, it can refer to the identified characteristics of a person or persons who committed a particular crime.

Nice short, sharp article. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. But (theres always one isnt there!) , consider this : the worldwide muslim population is probably around 1B people. 9/11 identified 19 of them as following that religion. maybe a few thousands since then, or "waiting in the wings".

You work out the % of a few 000s Vs a billion population, and you will understand where I am coming from.

cheers, kumar

EDIT : Yesterday, Miami Airport was evacuated, coz a security person was found "sleeping on the job". Is that what we want ?
