did anybody else find that symposium something of a dud? I did. those kind of things are hard to do well--talk isn't really meant to be preserved, and group conversations rarely work well--and I thought this was just as thin as most of the genre... tb@sniffsniff.com

Those regimes are having a hard time containing their populations' anger toward the U.S. and Israel already. It's terrifying to think about a massive Israeli response in Iraq in conjunction with us. If we are together with Israel in a war against Iraq—let's say in the best case scenario, if the Arab states sit it out—the alignment against the United States will be solidified for generations, I think. And it would be a terrible catastrophe for that to happen. The wrath incurred will never abate. IMO
