Got same criticism from Fortune when their reviewed my site, too many basic tables full of data, not enough bells and whistles. Too much content, not enough flash.

Makes senses. I have basic table (600 wide) menus at the top and bottom of every page in the exact same location so one can get around. The middle data tables are 99% width, so they fill up the screen at all resolutions.

If I had to do it all over again, that would be the way to go. I'd love to provide a database when one could get "all Canadian companies mining for copper in Turkey" or other interesting combinations. I started it in 1995 handcoding HTML in Wordpad, and I still do it that way. Too busy updating the wheel to find time to reinvent it !
