A very good example of why I'm not a huge MSFT fan.

Someone else reported the same thing to me yesterday. They could get in fine with IE, and NSCP4.x would work fine until they got that particular ad. Then, freeze city.

They sent me a screen shot and that helped me identify the culprit campaign on ValueClick this morning so I disabled the campaign.

Hopefully, that ad is no longer showing up and as a result NSCP 4.x users shouldn't crash anymore.

Where MSFT is concerned, I'm always extremely suspicious of motives when I see erratic behavior with other browsers. It's easy for any internet application to detect the browser it's running on.

Normally, I'd suspect sloppy coding that didn't correctly take old browsers into account, but you'd think Microsoft wouldn't make a lot of those kinds of errors (one would think -- I happen to think they're as inept as anyone else, myself included), so it's not a huge jump to suspect the problem is intentional.
