That Alan Greenspan could possibly have stopped us is silly. A rarely asked question: Why should he have tried? There is an almost universal assumption that the bubble and bust cycle is a bad thing to be avoided at all costs. I believe that the cycle is both healthy and inevitable. It funded a global communications infrastructure in less than three years. In my eyes it is a miracle of our economy that such massive progress can happen so rapidly. Paul
