Do you have any information on how the judge and prosecutor of the 93 WTC case feel about the success of their investigations ?

It would have been hard to prove that the Sept 11th murderers taking flying lessons were going to murder thousands on the 11th....before the 11th...wouldn't it?

It would be hard to prove that six men traveling in a car in Yemen represent an imminent threat to the United States.

Is there any doubt that they were Al Qaeda? Did this logic apply to all the cruise missiles we launched over the years into areas where terrorists were located?

War has been declared on us and we have reciprocated the declaration in response.

Would the critics of this attack feel better if a few US helicopters appeared and blew them to pieces as they tried to avoid being captured?

This signals a dangerous and unethical shift in U.S. policy and underscores the hypocrisy of the administration's stance on democratic norms. It also undermines Americans' safety both at home and abroad.

The target was clearly Harithi, a man Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld referred to after the killing as "a suspected terrorist connected to the USS Cole." He was suspected of terrorist crimes, but he had not been charged -- much less convicted -- in any court of law. Neither had the other five, at least one of whom was entitled to U.S. constitutional protections.
What a disturbing piece. What a disturbing direction Bush is taking.
