Paul, you are totally wrong. In fact, one big reason I think it's stupid to start a war with Iraq is it would result in increased terrorist acts against this country, which I've stated a number of times. Additonally, I feel we need to protect our own country and that sending troops elsewhere leaves us vulnerable. The conclusions in your post to me have absolutely no basis in fact. You might wish to check your own perspective that has so badly skewed what I wrote. AND Tom Ridge did steal the color coding from the forestry dept costing us millions to settle upon that. This is ridiculous. I posted something that said the US economy and cities were in danger and was slammed for that, then I found that the FBI was confirming that the US economy and cities were threatened. Which has not manifested, and make no mistake, thankfully in my opinion. Now I comment on the article which calls these vaguaries "chicken little" tactics and get slammed.

If the pipedream CB spoke of that Bush would push through a flat tax, I would be utterly jubilant and probably vote for him. I'm certainly more thoughtful than you give me credit for, which makes me wonder about your agenda.

You are more interested in seeing the people you don't like fail then you are in having your country be protected. I find this attitude deeply troubling. This judgment call about me is total bs and offensive to me.

I find it deeply troubling as well, for all the reasons you stated.

Some people evidently don't realize that the US took 2 1/2 years to get the US fully ready for WWII. When one looks at what has already been accomlished by American leaders who had this "Mess" thrust on them in 14 short months, it is incredible. And we only know about the publically announced items.

What is the Government to do? Not tell us about threats made? Or tell us?

And who really cares about the color of the warning right now? Any sane and thinking person now knows there is an everyday possibility of terrorist activity. By making a wide range of colors available (as in a giant Crayola box) will solve nothing.

It would be so much better if, instead of some contstantly lobbing spitballs, that the person who is complaining, could advance one or two ways that might be an improvement on whatever it is they are complaining about.

OTPaul: Your post offends me personally , especially since all you are trying to do is find fault with me because I view things differently than you. How are you solving anything? You are not. You are making excuses, I'm looking for answers and I don't think red yellow green days are an answer at all. I'm an American, you are not. So I guess the answer is mind over matter. I'll not mind what you say because you don't vote here, so in the grand scheme of things, you don't really matter.

Rather than this:

This post is really quite offensive. It is easy to sit on the sidelines and pass judgement. The internal situation is brand new and there is no model that can be used. These people are making it up as they go because they have no choice.

There will be mistakes, no doubt. The mistakes need to be identified in the press, no doubt. The leaders need to be held accountable, no doubt.

What this article and your comments do is referee the action like this is some sort of WWE event. You are more interested in seeing the people you don't like fail then you are in having your country be protected. I find this attitude deeply troubling.

How about this:

The internal situation is brand new and there is no model that can be used. These people are making it up as they go because they have no choice. There will be mistakes, no doubt. The mistakes need to be identified in the press, no doubt. The leaders need to be held accountable, no doubt. [But], what this article [does] is referee the action like this is some sort of WWE event.

I find this attitude deeply troubling.
