I can't promise that any individual Simpsons show will be worth watching, but overall the quality is good. Bart is an obnoxious brat, but he doesn't get away with it, and he's balanced out by Lisa, who generally behaves in an exemplary manner. Homer is weak, but he's balanced out by Marge, who is strong. The shows are nihilistic and moralistic at the same time.

I don't think I'd bother with them but Nick watches them, so I watch them with him.

I've never watched Baywatch or Survivor, maybe one or two Seinfeld. I do watch cable news, PBS (Mystery, Masterpiece Theater, Ken Burns), National Geographic, Discovery, History Channel, HBO and cable movies. Network TV for the most part sucks. PBS and cable movies don't have commercials but I don't really mind commercials -- cable news has commercials but I just mute them and read the newspaper or a magazine. So it's not the commercials. I think it's just the pandering to the lowest common denominator that bothers me.

I never watch anything with a laugh track. I do watch HBO Comedy Central but that's before a live audience, so it's not really a laugh track.
