Dutch police arrested a man for stealing a car to drive to court where he was due to face charges of stealing three other cars.

Officers arrested the 24-year-old man, from Apeldoorn, at a roadblock in Duiven, near Arnhem.

They pulled him over as they had just been told that a car of the same type had been stolen in Arnhem.

Officers say the man admitted he had stolen the car because he needed one to get to court the next day.

"I don¹t have a car myself. I just steal and sell them," he told officers, according to Algemeen Dagblad.
