Where TA is useful or not is such a controversy!

First, any method without proper risk and money management will eventually see the trader/investor blow out. We actually wrote a big book on, and it's free online at trendvue.com

I personally thing that a lot of TA is voodoo, because if we examine a lot of the theories, they don't hold any water. They're simply invalid. For example, there are lots of people who use methods that -- if you change the scaling of the chart from log to arithmetic or vice versa -- the points don't work. There are tons of these glaring problems.

So many people think that they will do better by changing the periodicity of an indicator, when in fact they have never even looked at the math of the indicator to see what it should even work in theory. You have to ask, what are we measuring? Two lines that just cross over is a little too random for me.
