Ahahahaha, Uncle Al KBE is like Santa - not at all stingy. Sensible should not be confused with stingy just as deflation shouldn't be confused with inflation.

Here are a bunch of numbers which get bigger as time goes on. federalreserve.gov

As you correctly pointed out, there is not a single red cent reported there.

Contrary to your idea, a lot of people do NOT think of themselves as drowning in money, though some of them feel they are drowning in debt and many have drowned. They did NOT think that interest rates were zero. Their interest bills exceeded the income they were getting from their assets. With lower interest rates, more investments will earn a return on borrowings; but having lectured my old mate Milton, you surely know that.

Please tell me where I can borrow money at 0% fixed for any decent length of time [like 10 years for example - I don't want to borrow money for 7 minutes then have rates zoomed up to 10%].

<You're dead wrong. AG hasn't done anything. >

Well, for somebody who hasn't done anything, he gets a lot of press and people hang on every word [and make up some he didn't say] and say that he cut interest rates. Surely he does something for his salary. Who cut the interest rates if not Alan Green$pan? Well, I know it's the committee of the Feds, but Uncle Al as the chief cook and bottlewash seems to be the one who fronts up to the news media and Congress to answer all the questions and explain what they are doing and why.

Few messes? Argentina, Brazil, Russia, Asian Contagion, Long Term Capital Mismanagement, Biotelecosmictechdot.bust, Japan and the small matter of a multitrillion $$ wealth effect removal. Not to mention the disturbing destruction of the Twin Towers, the WAT and cost of Homeland Security, air travel disruption and don't forget the sheep import restrictions from New Zealand.

None of those messes can be attributed to socialist states of which there aren't really any now [other than the democratic kleptocracies which blow half the national incomes on social engineering and gloop].

Yes, I'm afraid of the Big Bad Wolf [and so are a lot more people and far more so than I am - I plan on yanking his tail]. Yes, I can identify it. Kind of hairy, red eyes, big teeth, drooling tongue, malevolent stare. Jay Chen has described the monster in much more detail than I have: Message 16640110
