I think of honesty as being the first definition- comporting with truthfulness. I define truthfulness as corresponding to "reality". The problem with all that is that reality is perceived differently by different people. If we use intent, we just make it a proposition based on the subjective notion of the avowed intention of a person we can't even trust to perceive reality "truthfully. I don't see how that helps. I enjoy defining terms, any terms. If they have to be cancelled out, they have to be cancelled out. Why would that minimize my enjoyment of the words?
