These statements have little or nothing to do with the post you were responding to.

For starters there was absolutely no attempt to hurt you as you claim. I suggest you try something. Imagine that a good friend posted it and re-read it. Draw the card that allows you to play that role and see what happens.

Christopher, if I did not have an impression of you that made me resist the more lurid of the charges against you, I might have bought the whole kaboodle. Certainly, if I did not care if you were mistreated, I would not have brought grief on myself to try to mediate a fair resolution. Part of the reason I am sick of this line of thought is because it subtly suggests that I was a sucker to put myself out to seek a solution that was at once just and merciful. Considering that I do take hard fights with people I have considered friends, like jla, and that I dislike endless nattering, it was not a small matter to me to take a stand that although you were at fault and had to make some kind of amends, they were going overboard in hounding you. I could have just sat on the sidelines.........
