I suspect that Putin and Shrub had a very productive meeting, other wise no way would Russia accept the new additions to NATO. I think those additions are a counterweight to France and Germany on Islamic terrorist matters. For one thing I am from Romania and there the population still remembers vividly the wars and pillage islam brought upon them - every elementary school teaches what they were like. Western Civilization should take a page from Romanian history and their fight against the Islamic onslaught. Vlad Tzepesh (or Dracula as he is known ) is a hero to this day only because he was so nice ........ <g>

US consumer bubble looks like it needs low oil prices. of course, people could opt to drive $ 15,000 - 30,000 small or midsize cars getting 30 mpg or keep driving 2 SUVs like that environmental minister overseeing the Kyoto Treaty drives. that Saddam has paid for flight for everyone in his entourage but himself indicates he may make a last stand in Tikrit or Baghdad that may be a scorched-earth attack. it may even be on his own people and oil infrastructure if a mass desertions and a revolt takes place.
