butter: margarine is yuck!! (thats natural for me coz I lived in NZ for a long while!)

The best butter I had was 'home made' when I was living with my parents in India : Heres how it works :
- Buy some milk.
- put a certain (I dont know how much) quantity of yesterdays yoghurt/buttermilk in it.
- leave it overnight in summer (maybe 2 days in winter)
- use an eggbeater to churn up whats there.
- skim off the butter off the top. the rest is yoghurt/buttermilk.

Hi CobaltBlue; My initial reaction is that the day I discover I can't tell the difference between a red wine and a white wine, when served in a black glass is the day that my taste buds have certifiably gone off line.

Unless the taste test was between a white that tastes "red" and a red that tastes "white".
