reaper, lets agree that we disagree - rents are UP in NYC. Yes they are down from 2001 after rising 40% in two years or so

RE - INFLATION - Prices Increase

The median price of a home rose 1.1 percent to $159,600 last month from $157,900 in September. Prices were up 9.8 percent from October 2001, the biggest year-over-year increase since July 1987.

The supply of homes available for sale, another gauge of housing demand, fell to 4.6 months' worth in October, from 5.1 months' worth in September.
