It is? Hmmmm....that's interesting. What do you feel is the cause of Type 2 diabetes?

Lifetime of high carbohydrate / high sugar food, that wears down the body, over long period of time, and it eventually manifests itself in Type 2 diabetes. Basically, most people are in some stage of diabetes, some more advanced than others.

At the present time, scientists are not clear what causes type 1 or type 2 diabetes. However, with type 1, they think it might be "an environmental trigger"; with type 2, they do not know the cause but think poor eating habits may contribute to the problem.......and even that's a WAG. There are many people who eat poorly....consuming their weight in sugar and big macs, and don't become diabetic while others eat fairly well and do get the disease. And for the record, type 1 is the diabetes that kids usually get; type 2 is more commonly found in adults. As for childhood obesity, maybe there is a correlation and even that one is not fool proof.

My point is that misinformation and bias have prompted you to conclude incorrectly the cause for type 2 diabetes and reinforced your belief that people are very much responsible for their illness and should not have our sympathy at all. I disagree. I think your position stems from ignorance and is very unfair.
