In a way they are. You have to use your imagination when you read or reading isn't any fun. So I think they are interactive, in that the print and your brain interact to drive the experience. The print is in stasis, and isn't changing, but they are interactive, imo. I think the only difference here is that the print changes moment to moment- and there are print responses when you write something.

Here people use their imaginations in all sorts of ways to flesh out the characters. Some aliases claim that after 1000's of posts you "really know" people. But you don't really. You solidify your imaginary construction of the alias, but I don't think it has anything to do with knowing the alias or the person behind the alias.
