Moore in his new movie seems at points to explore the idea that perhaps a uniquely fear-based culture lies behind the compulsion to acquire so many multiples of the firepower necessary to blow away everything and everybody in sight, interesting idea, one on which it would be fascinating to see what our species says in future centuries .... should we have the great good fortune to see future centuries

Actually, this suggests something that I hadn't thought of, or at least a variation on it. Perhaps we're just witnessing the development of the Ultimate Control Freak Culture. Eeeeekkk!!!! What a scary thought. Might also explain the popularity of things like Walmarts, McDonalds, BurgerKings and all of this "stuff" that is designed to eliminate the element of "surprise" when embarking on everything from cruising for burgers to shopping sprees. I dunno... It's all getting just a little too weird for this Canuck.

just trying to get me to type more, no doubt ...

Yeah! But sometimes I'm too rushed to set it up properly. Sorry. <g>

So what's happening on grain? I've long wondered if U.S. subsidies are undermining Canadian agriculture. But of course I know my country would never be so diabolically hypocritical, would it? <ggg>
