I very much like the sentiments in the first part of your message. I shake my head when I read of Celine Dionne's wedding, or ballplayers spending $350K on a watch.

Cheers

Here's a flippant remark for you, SOROS - for a "true Christian," you sure are a judgmental SOB.

A few more comments:

1) Following on Mark's message, your's smacks of envy and ill-will.

2) Financial professionals do not have a monopoly on greed, nor are the majority greedy. In this modern world of division of labor, those who help companies and individuals raise and invest capital, manage risk, and account for money earned and spent serve a role no less important than that of the salesman, factory worker, engineer or customer service rep. Our economy could not function without the financial sector any more than it could without transportation.

3) In case you missed it in your "true Christian" upbringing, working hard to improve your life and the lives of those around you is not a sin. If someone becomes wealthy making a product or performing a service that is valuable and beneficial to others, that does not make them a greedy or otherwise bad person.

Even if you want to take it upon yourself to label a particular person or action as sinful, try not to judge whole classes of people as not worthy of God's graces. And try not to let envy of the material wealth of others cause you to assume they are not deserving of that wealth.

And try to have a happy Thanksgiving.

Bob

thanks for your comments SOROS....There is indeed a creeping universalism in our society, where everyone believes everyone is going to heaven...Unfortunately, this is untrue...

"He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be ..............."....

Someone once said, "You Christians are narrow-minded to think you have it right and everyone else has it wrong..

What I say to that is this:
If you had a heart attack and lived afterwards, where would you seek treatment...Circle below your choice..
1)Dial 1-900-Psychic
2)Visit an African Witch Doctor
3)Go to your local heart doctor and follow his advice about a catherization and potential bypass surgery...

Would you call me narrow-minded for chosing number 3....No!! Wisdom leads us to choose the proper course of action...So wisdom leads me to choose Christianity over the other world religions of the day...

Might also add, Jesus did say the way is narrow..."I am the way, the truth, the life, no man comes to the Father, but by me!"..So I guess we are narrow-minded..

Take care, got to walk dog and smoke a birthday cigar...Richard M, eat your heart out.........Am planning to raid Mazzarelli's house early in 2003 and take all his premium cigars away from him...Someone has to look out for Mazz.....
