I think he is correct, although it is good to note that the United States is also very pious. Europe is really the odd man out in respect of this trend, and even Eastern Europe has burgeoning religious interest, as the oppression of Communism has lifted.......

it is Christianity that will leave the deepest mark on the 21st century."

Fascinating.... And frightening if "crusade" mentality takes hold as an opposing view to the "jihadists" of militant Islam...

A Christian Boom

This article brings up one thing that has surprised and concerned me. My understanding was that religions practiced in sub Saharan Africa, whether Islam or Christian did not play the same aggressive unifying role that Islam is billed as playing among Arab nations, Iran, Pakistan, etc. That in effect, Africans feel themselves first and foremost Africans and then Muslims or Christians. Interethnic genocides in Africa have not been driven by religion, but by ethnicity, even though there may be religious dividing lines as well.

But now, there's this news from Nigeria about the beauty pageant, and these recent warnings about Christianity...

I really don't know what to believe, but it sounds dangerous. One lunatic sect spun off a major religion is more than enough, thank you very much.
