I don't see why.

If you define "importance" as caring about something, then both statements are
true.


Good. That's progress.

If you define "important" as consequential, then some things are important in and of themselves, although the
investigative approach provides a context for us to take note of them.


That just substitutes one value word for another. Consequential to whom? Is everything consequential to everything? What difference between men and beasts (the original issue) is consequential to every person at every moment of their lives?
