>>>have you gone out to eat lately?<<<

I said that food was cheap, not that restaurants were cheap.

Many Americans are disgustingly fat when compared to people almost anywhere else in the world.

So you eat canned beans, canned soup, Bunny Bread, and potato chips?

bb, >>i heard Jim Rogers this am state that raw material costs were going through the roof for MCD and squeezing their margins...no surprise there.

ADM and CarGill have contracts for oil with these guys that depend on the price of commodities - could get interesting.

I missed J. Rogers this morning - what else did he have to say?

A agree with you on food prices. One of our American cookie and cracker companies raised prices last week.

I talked to one of our grocery store managers and he said they have seen a change in buying habits of their customers to the lower priced products. This is a higher end chain here in Minneapolis and their stores are located in the relatively higher rent districts.
