" Science cannot test the Supernatural, and thus cannot comment upon it."

Have to disagree here Buddy....science can test for the supernatural and has often done so by debunking charlatans. You are probably aware of one of the more famous ones which is the proof that the Shroud of Turin is a fake..... Fortune tellers, mystics, and those who speak to the dead are routinely debunked by science oriented people. Mysterious images that magically appear on windows or in pictures, statues that bleed or weep, and visions that appear on schedule are some other things that are routinely exposed as fraud.

"Science creates myth as readily as religion."

Stealth creationism.

Today's science has created an entire class of frauds, targeting contributions and taxpayer grant money. Doctorates are cheap, and the modern version of the snake-oil salesman has a wall full of credentials. He uses his skills to get quoted by the dunderhead left wing media and, rather than defraud his victims face-to-face, he preys on the poorly-educated millions (Clinton's crowd) and the over-educated with a bone to pick with their society-through brainy sounding themes like "global warming" and "acid rain". These new skilled con men can hold forth for hours pumping their fraud. They publish books, AND EVEN OCCASIONALLY bamboozle the vastly-overrated Nobel Prize committee. Their greatest weapon today: Taking advantage of the anti-American sentiment spread by the aging Marxist/Leninist "establishment" media in Europe and the United States. Look at Europe's Luddite crusade against bio-engineered food. They are starting to starve Third World countries through this mass ignorance, backed by pseudo-scientific pump artists.

It's all very sophisticated, but it's really the same old game: Make money preying on the ignorant.

We are no longer isolated, illiterate farmers buying snake oil. But our situation is probably worse: We are illiterate, isolated, TV-watching suburbanites, subjected to hours of propaganda telling us that skepticism of "the experts" is unacceptable, therefore if WE tell you that man's filthy industry is the cause of global warming that will eventually destroy "the Earth", YOU DAMN WELL BETTER BELIEVE IT, because you're just a dumbass, and WE know everything.

Effective, yes. The modern snake oil salesmen have fooled a lot of liberal people, and made a lot of liberal dollars.

But is that the end of the story?

No.

As in earlier times, fraud will be exposed. The coming American renaissance will purge academia of it's Marxist/Leninist corruption, and will sweep out the global warming snake oil salesmen along with the "kill America first" crowd.

We're gonna need a LOT of tar and feathers over the next few years...
