sorry, multiyear high in gold, not copper. but copper is up some 12% from its Oct low. meanwhile, Chinese copper consumption is up 34% YoY and up 100% from 1999, so one country, which currently comprises 20% of global copper demand, is doubling its consumption every 3 yrs.

the copper surplus this year thru first 8 mos was down 75% from last yr. latest results show deficit of 13K tonnes. i'm sure that is all negative for the copper price and will set you chuckling.
