Bilow,

I was just about to write a response arguing that your "How do we know they will use the WMD" line of thinking is not on point. The fear is not that Iraq will use WMD but that they will sell them to terrorist organizations.

Then I ran across this from the BBC:
news.bbc.co.uk

A direct link between global terrorists and "unstable" countries like Iraq will develop unless dictators such as Saddam Hussein are tackled, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has warned.
Mr Blair said weapons of mass destruction could find their way into the hands of terrorists with "truly awful" results if the threat from Iraq and other such countries was not dealt with.

If that issue is not dealt with, then at some point we will find those weapons in the hands of international terrorists

Tony Blair
He said such weapons posed a "real threat" to the world - and giving Saddam the green light to continue developing them under his "oppressive and dictatorial" regime would have disastrous consequences.

Mr Blair was answering questions from BBC News Online users and BBC World Service listeners in a special interactive edition of the phone-in programme Talking Point.

The interview in Downing Street was part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of World Service radio.

We know that Saddam sends munitions and money to the Palestinian terrorist group so it is not an intelectual stretch to imagine that he might see 9-11 as an opportunity to expand this activity.

The problem for the US is they lack a reliable means of monitoring this through intelligence gathering and they have not means to control or incent Saddam.

Paul

It appears to me that what you really want to argue about is whether or not Iraq has WMD, and I don't see the point of arguing about it.

I just heard a repeat of Rumsfeld's press conference earlier today, and he says that they do. By our actions, we believe that they do, because we've ordered enough smallpox vaccine to innoculate the entire country, and are stockpiling chemical suits for the troops.

The Brits say that they do. By our actions, the Brits believe that they do, because *they've* ordered enough smallpox vaccine to innoculate the entire country.

By their actions, the Israelis believe they do, because they're passing out gas masks and innoculating people against smallpox. Already did, in fact, innoculate their people against smallpox -- not sure to what level, but certainly first responders.

By their actions, the Kuwaitis believe that they do, because they are buying gas masks from the Israelis.

By their actions, even the Germans believe that they do, because they've started a smallpox program of their own.

This is way beyond trash talk, probably even for your neighborhood.
